Equipment Analyses, Designs, and Development
Having analyzed the technical condition of the furnaces and thermal equipment in service as well as the user’s intentions, we will propose reconstructions and refurbishments of the existing equipment or its replacement with new equipment. In doing so, we always try to respect the customer’s needs and wishes and to evaluate the technical benefits and investment returns for the suggested and alternative solutions jointly with the customer before the final decision is taken.
Equipment proposed in this way will emerge from well-proven solutions from previous realizations, being, however, always adapted to meet the customer's particular requirements and wishes as well as the conditions prevailing in the plant and manufacturing process where the equipment is to be used. This applies to both the design concepts of the individual nodes and equipment as a whole, their layouts and links to other equipment and technology in service, and e.g. the subcontractors to be selected for individual components and groups, so that the user does not need to extend the portfolio of suppliers or the range of spares.
Many times, the new equipment tends to be developed and engineered as tailor-made, in accordance with the future user’s specifications.
Let’s take the following as examples of new products the development of which was evoked by customer needs.
- new type of equipment for testing and thermal stabilization of turbine rotors,
- expansion module for the car bottom annealing furnace allowing the furnace to be used occasionally for the heat treatment of products longer than the base furnace, or
- equipment for spray ("JET") cooling of rotors and rollers during special heat treatment.
Cooperation between both the involved parties, the design documentation author, and future user will not only bring a higher utility value of the final product for the customer, but also provide valuable experience and act as evidence of innovative approaches on the side of E-therm TZ developers and design engineers.
